  • A 2024 review in Innovation in Aging examined 14 studies of bidet use by older adults. Users described greater privacy and independence in the bathroom, and caregivers reported spending less time assisting with toileting. Read the review

  • In rehabilitation research, people recovering from a stroke managed toilet hygiene independently 73% of the time using an automated bidet, and reported feeling more capable than with their previous routine.
  • Caregiver movement studies measured reductions of 15% in awkward postures and 32% in severe bending — toileting assistance is among the most physically demanding parts of home caregiving.
