It heats water on demand rather than storing it in a tank, so warm water doesn't run out mid-cycle. That difference separates mid-range seats from entry-level ones and it is what people notice first. Alongside it: a heated SoftClose seat with five temperature settings, a warm air dryer, a built-in deodorizer, a nightlight, and a wireless remote holding four user profiles.
TOTO's two automated cleaning systems are both present. PREMIST wets the bowl before use so waste doesn't stick. EWATER+ cleans the wand and bowl afterwards without chemicals.
What to know before you buy: TOTO's warranty on the S5 is one year. Bio Bidet gives three and Infinity gives four. For a company with TOTO's reputation that is a short cover, and it is worth factoring in.

2. Best Premium: TOTO S7A — $1,404
The TOTO S7A is TOTO's flagship seat, replacing the discontinued S550e.
Its defining feature is that the seat and lid both open automatically as you approach and close behind you. You never touch either. If bending, reaching or balance is the actual problem you're solving, this is where we start rather than at the S5.
Everything else is the current TOTO standard: instant warm water, five spray modes with AIR-IN WONDER WAVE aeration, heated seat, warm air dryer with five temperature settings, deodorizer, nightlight, EWATER+, PREMIST, and an illuminated remote with four presets. At 4.1 inches rear height it is among the slimmest seats available, and the seat is seamless — no gap for dirt to collect.
What to know before you buy: you are paying $125 more than the S7 for the automatic seat and lid alone. Everything else is identical. If that feature doesn't matter to you, buy the S7 and keep the difference.

The TOTO S7 is the S7A without the automatic seat and lid. TOTO's own documentation puts it plainly: they are otherwise identical.
That makes it the better buy for most people considering the S7A. You keep the 4.1-inch slim profile, the seamless seat, instant warm water, the horizontal remote with backlit buttons and four user presets, EWATER+, PREMIST, the warm air dryer, deodorizer and nightlight.
What to know before you buy: the automatic lid isn't a gimmick for everyone. If you're buying for someone with limited mobility, that $125 gap buys a genuine daily benefit. For everyone else it's a luxury.

4. Best for Aging in Place: Infinity Eaze Z3 — $899
Formerly the Cascade 3000, the Infinity Eaze Z3 is the seat we point people toward when the buyer has specific physical requirements.
Two things set it apart. It fits French curve toilets — the awkward one-piece shapes where the tank sweeps into the base — which many seats, including the entire Bio Bidet range, explicitly will not mount to. And the remote comes in a large easy-read version with raised buttons, which matters more for dexterity and vision than any spray setting.

It uses a heated tank reservoir rather than instant heating, meaning steady pressure and consistent temperature but a finite supply of warm water. For a single user that's rarely an issue. What to know before you buy: the tank means warm water is limited, and there's no nightlight. Both are fair trade-offs at $359.

That combination matters more than the small price gap suggests. You get endless warm water rather than a tank that runs out, a wall-mountable illuminated remote holding four user profiles, a nightlight, a warm air dryer with three temperature settings, an automatic deodorizer, a self-cleaning wand, CLEAN RESIN and a seamless seat.
What to know before you buy: elongated only (SW3216), no round option. No PREMIST or EWATER+ — for those you need the KS6 at $649 or the S2 at $459. One-year warranty.
And the TOTO seats below it are worth understanding. The A2 ($359), KC2 ($419) and S2 ($459) all use side arm control panels, meaning you turn and reach to operate them. If mobility or reach is any part of your reason for buying, the KS5 or the BB-1000 are better answers.
8. Best for Mobility: Dignity Lifts WL2 — $2,999
The Dignity Lifts WL2 is a different category of product for a different problem.
It's a powered toilet lift with a fully integrated bidet. It lowers you onto the toilet, washes and dries you, and raises you back to your feet. If the difficulty is standing up rather than cleaning, no bidet seat at any price solves it and this does.
Fourteen inches of lift, 300-pound capacity, controls in both handlebars, fold-up arms for transfers, four wide feet for stability. How to choose a bidet toilet seat
How do I know if I need a round or elongated bidet seat?
Measure from the seat bolts to the front rim of your toilet. Roughly 18.5 inches is elongated and roughly 16.5 inches is round. This is the single most common cause of returns. If you're unsure, call us and we'll walk you through it.
Does a bidet seat need an electrical outlet?
Yes. Every electric bidet seat needs a grounded 120V GFCI outlet within reach of the cord. If your bathroom doesn't have one near the toilet, an electrician can usually add one inexpensively — but find out before you order, not after.
Will a bidet seat fit a one-piece toilet?
Most seats fit two-piece toilets and the majority of one-piece designs. The exception is the French curve shape, where the tank sweeps down into the base. Bio Bidet's documentation explicitly excludes those. The Infinity Eaze Z3 is designed to fit them.
What is the difference between instant heating and a tank?
A tank stores a fixed amount of warm water — steady pressure, consistent temperature, but it runs out, typically after 30 to 60 seconds. Instant heating warms water on demand and doesn't run out. For a single user a tank is usually fine. For a shared bathroom, instant heating is worth the step up.
Is a remote better than a side control panel?
For most people, yes. A wall-mounted remote sits within easy reach; a side panel requires turning to operate. If mobility is any part of your reason for buying, this matters more than almost anything else on the spec sheet. Among the seats we sell, the TOTO A2, KC2 and S2 use side panels.
